a collection of charcoal on paper

costanza Maria boncompagni ludovisi

Student currently working in Paris and allowing time to pursue my forever passion for art. There is something so subtle yet powerful of charcoal and its depth on paper - have not found any other better way to express my perspective of architecture and its linear complexity.

1929

Inspired by 1929 Wall Street’s crash, I experimented dragging the viewer into a two-dimensional story for the first time. Based on pure imagination, the iconic city’s skyscrapers are intentionally selected and drawn to complete the real-life scale perspective. Lastly, to further enhance the immersive experience, I allowed using a surrealistic metaphor of the “big foot” escaping the smaller and disadvantaged crowd.

baroque

Fascinated by the overwhelming details of the baroque architecture in Ortigia, Sicily, I decided to compose an imaginative scenario through the numerous pictures I personally took. The contrast between the black charcoal and soft paper allows the three distinct inspirations to create a functional continuous landscape.

dear dad

Gifting a drawing is part of my love language and decided to honor the first time for my father.
